These armbands were made and issued in the Ghetto. Z means ZIDOV and worn in Yugoslavia after German occupation in 1941. There were several different types of armbands, both printed and embroidered. The German regimes in the occupied countries of Europe force Jews to wear an identifying mark under the threat of death.
